J’ai inauguré ce texte dans une église du vallon de Sainti, avec Jojo et son dispositif sophistiqué pour piano à queue et électronique. On a utilisé la sono du prêtre. En guise de petite scénographie, un chevalet recouvert d’un drap blanc laissait apparaître le cadre d’une peinture. A l’apéro d’après-concert, le prêtre n’a pas pu s’empêcher de guigner en douce. Narration et vin confèrent de l’ardeur. Quatre œuvres pour clarinette seule du 20e siècle composées par le Russe Igor Stravinsky (1918), l’Allemande Fromm-Michels (1921), le Français Olivier Messian (1942) et le Suisse Heinrich Sutermeister (1946). Je me suis exercé comme un fou pour enregistrer ces quatre pièces sans coupe le jour J, afin d’honorer le caractère&nbsp; techniquement exigeant en une seule prise. Mais en arrivant à 1000 mètres d’altitude de la Tchaux le lundi de Pâques, le printemps est moins avancé, le studio au sous-sol un peu frisquet, les anches grippées, l’instrument prend l’eau, mes doigts sont engourdis. Je commence le sound-check à 08.30. À 20.00, je prends le train du retour, c’est enfin dans la boîte. L’esprit possède d’étonnantes ressources.
